Features and Functionality in the iRobot® HOME App

Once your robot is connected to your home Wi-Fi network through the iRobot® HOME App, it provides you control of the robot and access to features such as settings and cleaning preferences. The app also aids with maintenance and troubleshooting as needed. Use the following information to navigate through the app.

Below is a chart of all current available features.

Many features are provided in the app. The Menu can be used to access the following features
 
  • Add a robot: Already have a robot on your home network? Go here to add the robot to your smart device. 
  • Smart Home: Connect your robot to a Smart Home Device such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant Enabled device.
  • Account and Privacy: Account information.
  • iRobot® Store: Purchase all new accessories or spare parts
  • About this app: See the current version your app is on. We always want our customers on the latest version for best app and robot functionality

CLEAN ButtonLocated in the middle of the app, just press CLEAN for your robot to get to work.CLEAN
Send Home

Pressing the CLEAN button and then pressing "Send Home" sends your robot back to the Home Base®.

*Empty Bin ButtonIf using a Roomba with a Clean Base™, If Roomba® is on the Clean Base™, this button will appear on the screen for you to manually empty the robot's bin into the Clean Base™.

Set the day and time of cleanings.

History**

This displays number of cleaning jobs, total job time, Dirt Detect count, and recent job history. On select models, area cleaned, and total area cleaned will be displayed. The cleaning area is an approximate area cleaned as calculated by the robot. The number may be lower than expected due to certain home features and obstacles.

Care & Maintenance Reset

Track the status of your bin, brushes, and overall core of the robot to know when the robot needs maintenance.

After maintenance is performed, press on the part maintained to reset the status.

Cleaning Preferences

Adjust the Cleaning Preferences to fit your cleaning needs.

Roomba®

Vacuuming Behavior

  • Detailed Clean: Just right for thorough, everyday cleaning. The vacuum may appear louder as it runs on carpet, and battery runtime could be shorter than expected (around 20–30 minutes before needing to charge).
  • Quiet Clean: Lower power for quieter operation. Roomba® will run longer and reach more areas within your home before needing to recharge and resume cleaning. Pickup performance may not be as thorough as with "Detailed Clean" and the vacuum power will not increase as it would with a "Detailed Clean". 
  • Careful Drive: Roomba® does its best to clean as close to walls and furniture as it can without touching them.
Cleaning Passes
  • Single Pass: Use this for daily cleaning. Roomba® covers the entire space once. 
  • Double Pass: Use this for a deeper clean. Roomba® covers the entire space twice. 
  • Variable: Use this to balance cleaning time with room size. Roomba® covers larger rooms once and small to medium-sized rooms two to three times.

Wet Mopping Behavior
 
Small: Quick clean.
Medium: Standard clean.
Large: Deep clean.
 
Jet Spray Amount
 
Adjust the jet spray by toggling the switch to your desired setting. For lowest amount of liquid sprayed, toggle the switch to the far left. For the maximum amount of spray, toggle the switch to the far right.

View or change the current Wi-Fi network.

Robot Language*

Download additional languages. This feature is available when the app is on the same network as the robot.

Choose from Installed Languages or select from the Additional Languages.

Remove Roomba®Roomba® will no longer be accessible in the app.  Settings ➔ Factory Reset (Robot Name) Or simply remove the battery for factory reset as well

Map Privacy

iRobot® cares about your privacy and only uses your map data to improve your cleaning experience.

Toggle the switch to the right to disable mapping functionality.

Doing so will disable the ability to retrieve Clean Map reports.

Imprint Smart Maps will also be disabled

Edge Clean*

For a complete cleaning, Roomba® will seek out and clean along walls and furniture leg to conclude a cleaning job.

Factory Reset*

Reset Roomba® back to factory settings.

This will not reset the lifetime performance log.
