Your robot should throw an error 1008, but even if your robot is not saying anything, a reboot should still resolve the issue and get it mopping again. Reboot the robot by holding the button for about twenty (20) seconds). Doing so should clear any error from the robot's memory.
Error 1008 indicates that the pad actuator is stalled, and the robot could not move. A pad actuator stall can be caused by something being on top of the pad when it is in the stowed position or in a tight space where it does not have room to fully actuate the pad. The robot will attempt to move to a new location on its own and actuate the pad again.
The robot will pause mid-mission and wait for the user to help. To clear the error, move the robot to a new location and ensure that nothing is on top of the robot. Press the button to resume the mission.
If the pad arm remains stuck:
Roomba Combo 10 Max: The only solution is to push the pad arm back into place manually. You can apply a bit of force to maneuver the pad arm into its position.
All other Roomba Combo robots: If the pad arm remains stuck, placing the robot on the dock should trigger the robot to put its pad arm back on its own after a few minutes
