Reboot
A Robot Reboot will resolve many typical robot issues. It is used most often to clear an error from a robot if it doesn't clear on its own through proper care and maintenance. A reboot is always safe and will not delete information such as maps, schedules, or other preferences.
How to perform a Reboot From the App:
Classic iRobot® HOME App

Navigate to Product Settings ➔ Reboot Roomba ➔ Reboot Roomba
New Roomba® HOME App

From the “Robots” tab, click the three dots on the top right of the screen ➔ Reboot Roomba ➔ Reboot Roomba
How to Perform a Manual Reboot with the Robot’s Buttons:
With the robot off the dock, press and hold the CLEAN or POWER button for roughly 20 seconds. The number of seconds may vary for some models; Please see the table below.
You should see a white light and hear a little tune or voice from the robot. It may take up to a minute and a half for your robot to reboot.

10 Seconds
Reboot the robot by holding down the power button on the robot for 10 seconds while it is off the dock. Hold the button again for 3 seconds to turn it back on.
Note: Please hold the button until you hear instruction from the robot, which will take roughly 10 seconds.

Non-Wi-Fi Connected Roomba® 500, 600, and 700 series and Roomba® e Series: Press and hold

SPOT buttons on your robot for about 10 seconds.

Note: For models without Wi-Fi capabilities, a reboot will reset the clock, but the schedule will remain.
Important: For 600 Series robots ONLY: Remove your robot's bin and look for a GREEN dot on the underside.
- If the dot is present, use the steps in this article to remove the battery, which will reboot your robot. Leave the battery out for thirty seconds before reinstalling it to allow for a successful reboot.
- If the dot is NOT present, use the steps below to reboot your robot.

For all Robots with the Dock and Spot buttons and NO green dot: Press and hold

SPOT buttons on your robot for 10 seconds. When the button is released, Roomba will play the reboot tone.

Note: The reboot procedure is the same for Roomba 500 & 600 series.
Roomba Combo reboot procedure:

- Open the top cover of your Roomba Combo
- Turn the power switch to the off position
- Wait 10 seconds
- Turn the power switch to the on position
Important: If rebooting does not clear the error, you can factory reset your robot. This deletes everything and puts your robot back to factory settings. We recommend reaching out to iRobot Customer Care before Factory Resetting your robot.
