Charging Error 17 / Error 23: All Roomba® and Braava® Models

Both Charging Error Seventeen (17) and Error Twenty-Three (23) mean that the battery may not be iRobot authentic.

Note: Confirm that you are using an authentic iRobot® Lithium-Ion battery. This charging error and others can occur with aftermarket purchased batteries.  

If the message persists, perform a robot reboot.

If the message persists after the reboot, and your battery is iRobot authentic, please contact iRobot Customer Care.

For expedited service, please have the following ready:
    • Your robot charged and with you.
    • Your robot's Serial Number.
    • For warranty claims: Proof of purchase (receipt or invoice for purchase from an authorized retailer).
