What is a "Clean Map"?
"Clean Maps" are reports that showcase visual representations of the areas your Roomba cleaned. You can also see statistics such as the areas cleaned, job duration, dirt detection, and charging time for completed jobs.

To view past "Clean Map Reports", go to the "History" screen and click the "Clean Map Report" displayed to view it, or click the ">" to view a list of past "Clean Map Reports".

Understanding "Clean Map Reports".

  • Green on the Map shows areas where your robot cleaned, while white denotes areas where your robot did not clean, such as appliances and other obstacles
  • Clean Maps track areas where Dirt Detect™ was activated. These are designated by dark green squares on the map.
  • The location of the Home/Clean Base™ is noted by a Dock icon on the map
  • Your robot may experience an error during a cleaning mission. If this occurs, the "Clean Map Report" will include a partial map that shows the area the robot cleaned before encountering the error. The error location will also be marked with a red troubleshooting icon on the map. You can click the red troubleshooting icon for information on how to resolve the error.

  • Number of Cleaning Jobs: This value indicates the number of times your robot has cleaned
  • Total Job Time: This value indicates the total time your robot has spent cleaning
  • Total Area Cleaned: This value indicates the total area your robot has covered cleaning
  • Dirt Event: This value indicates the number of times your robot has activated Dirt Detect mode an Imprint™ Smart Map enabled for reference

Textured Areas.
If you have one or more smart mapping robots, "Clean Maps" in "History" and "Smart Maps" will both show the textured areas as carpets. You will see your area rugs and carpets and will reflect on your maps. This can be used for creating "Keep-Out Zones" and "Clean Zones".

What do I do if my "Clean Map™ Reports" are not available?

Note: The 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, and e series do not have clean maps.

Upon installing the iRobot HOME App for select Wi-Fi connected Roomba models, you will be prompted to select whether you would like to enable the "Clean Map™ Report" feature.

If "Clean Map™ Report" is unavailable, please check the following:

  • Ensure Mapping Features are turned on:
- Go to "Account" in the iRobot HOME App
- Press on "Privacy" and go to "Mapping Features"

  • Confirm your robot is connected to the internet:
- Go to the "Home" page in the iRobot HOME App
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen towards "Product Settings" > "Wi-Fi Settings"
- "Product Wi-Fi Details"

  • Ensure your robot Software is up-to-date. If the iRobot HOME App says “Map Not Available” when viewing a "Clean Map™ Report", please ensure your Roomba 900 series Software is version 2.2.5 or higher
  • "Clean Map™ Reports" are not available for jobs that were run prior to the 2.2.5 Software update. If your robot Software meets the requirements and "Clean Map™ Reports" are still unavailable, close and reopen the iRobot HOME App and ensure your mobile device and operating system are compatible
  • If all "Clean Map™ Reports" are missing, please press and hold the CLEAN button on the robot for 10 seconds. When the button is released, Roomba will play the reboot tone. Then run at least three small cleaning jobs.
