Article Details

Use the following procedure to clean or replace the Roomba Front Caster Wheel.

  • We recommend you clean the caster wheel once every two (2) weeks
  • We recommend you replace the caster wheel every 12 months or as needed

Note:

  • A Front Caster Wheel that is clogged with hair and debris could result in floor damage.
  • The Front Caster Wheel cannot be removed from the Roomba® Essential. This can make it difficult to clean. You may want to use a sharp blade to cut hair away.

Note: Front Caster Wheel can not be removed from the Roomba Essential.

1. Firmly pull on the Front Caster Wheel to remove it from the robot.

2. Remove debris from inside the well of the Front Caster Wheel.

3. Remove the wheel from its housing and clear any hair wrapped around the axle. Push firmly on the wheel axle to remove it completely from the wheel.

Note: The axel cannot be removed from Roomba 205, 405, or 505. When the wheel comes out of the robot it does not separate further from the axel on these models.

4. Wipe the wheel clean.

5. Re-install the wheel into the housing and the module into the robot.

If the wheel is falling out of the housing, you may need a replacement Caster Wheel Module.
